Abstract. Assortment Optimization is the problem of offering an optimal assortment from a ground set. Customers choose one of the offered products or decide not to purchase any. The dynamic version of this problem with finite inventories and time is a model for revenue management. Both problems are difficult when the customer population is heterogeneous (multiple segments). In this talk we present our research on the computational approaches for static and dynamic optimization under the choice as well as a matching model.
